The Anti-Ghost
Formula

If you have ever had someone message you about their hair, seem interested, and then disappear… or say they will think about it and you never hear from them again… or ask for pricing and go silent…
This is going to fix that.
You do not need more likes.
You do not need more followers.
You do not need to post more.
You need better conversations.
Because in the hair industry, people do not book because of information.
They book because something in the conversation made them feel:
- understood
- confident
- clear
What People Are Really Buying
No one is buying highlights.
No one is buying balayage.
They are buying things like:
- hair that does not turn brassy two weeks later
- color that still looks good when it grows out
- something easier to deal with every morning
- something that actually feels like them again
If your conversation never touches that… they stay unsure and they do not book.
Why People Ghost You
Ghosting is not random. It is created in the conversation.
You lose them when you:
- answer too fast
- send pricing too early
- stay surface level
- do all the talking
Example (Dead Conversation)
Client: how much for blonde?
You: 250 plus depending on length
That conversation is dead. There is nothing pulling them forward. No curiosity. No emotion. No reason to keep replying.
How You Should Sound
Short. Real. Human.
You should sound like:
- someone texting a friend
- relaxed but paying attention
- curious
You should NOT sound like:
- a website
- a brochure
- a script
What To Say First
Stop overthinking this. You just need to get them talking.
Use things like:
- hey, what are you thinking about doing with your hair?
- ok wait… what has your hair been doing lately?
- are you loving it right now or kinda over it?
- what has been the most annoying part about it lately?
The Flow That Gets Bookings
This is the part you actually need to get good at.
Step 1: Get them talking
what are you thinking about doing?
Step 2: Pull specifics
ok tell me more
what has been bothering you the most?
is it more the color or how it sits?
Step 3: Make it real
has it been getting brassy or just dull?
does it feel like it never styles the same anymore?
is it one of those things that looks good for a week then falls off?
Step 4: Create the picture
when it is right… what does it actually look like to you?
are you thinking brighter, softer, easier to deal with?
something that still looks good even when you do nothing to it?
Step 5: Move naturally
ok I got you… I can fix that
when do you want to come in?
Real Scenarios (This Is Where It Clicks)
PRICE SHOPPER
Client: how much?
You: depends a little… what is going on with your hair right now?
Follow: is it more like the color is off or it just does not sit right anymore?
BRASSY BLONDE
Client: my blonde always turns yellow
You: yeah that is super common… how fast does it start doing that?
Follow: does it feel like it never stays how it looked when you left?
FLAT / LIFELESS HAIR
Client: my hair just feels flat
You: got it… does it fall flat after you style it or just never has volume anymore?
BAD PAST EXPERIENCE
Client: I had a bad experience
You: that sucks… what happened?
Follow: what part bothered you the most?
LOW MAINTENANCE CLIENT
Client: I want something low maintenance
You: ok love that… what has been the hardest part to keep up with?
Follow: tone? styling? how it grows out?
THE LURKER
You: I feel like you have been thinking about changing your hair for a minute lol… what made you finally reach out?
Bringing People Back (This Prints Money)
Most stylists never do this:
hey, random but I was thinking about your hair
how has it been holding up?
Follow with:
has it been doing what you wanted or kinda falling off?
This reopens the conversation naturally.
When They Hesitate
This is where most people lose it. Do not panic.
If they say: I will think about it
Say: what are you thinking through right now?
If they say: it is expensive
Say: I get that… what part feels like a stretch?
Do not defend. Do not explain. Just get them talking again.
Closing Without Pressure
You are not forcing anything. You are guiding.
if we fix that and get it how you want… you would be down right?
they say yes
perfect… when do you want to come in?
